Prenatal Adjustments-Webster Technique
The Webster’s technique is a gentle chiropractic adjustment that aligns the pelvis and includes a soft tissue release of associated muscle groups. It allows the pelvis to function properly during pregnancy. The technique reduces soft tissue tension that may cause uterine torsion which allows for an ideal environment for the baby to grow and move. Webster’s technique is helpful in providing relief for common lower back and sciatic pains that pregnant women often experience.
Infant Adjustments Using SOT and Activator Techniques
SOT Technique
SOT stands for Sacro Occipital Technique. “Sacro” means “related to, or associated with, the sacrum.” This technique improves the overall transmission of nerve impulses from the brain down the spine and to other areas of the body. Equal emphasis is placed in SOT treatment on the proper positioning of the pelvis. SOT treatment focuses on both ends of the spine, because they are so interrelated. By correcting imbalances both in the skull and in the pelvis, communication is improved along the entire spinal column.
Activator Method
The activator technique is ideal for babies, adults and geriatrics because of its low-impact delivery and effective results. An activator is a small spring loaded hand held device that provides a quick, low impact pulse directly to a specific vertebrae or joint. This quick and low impact application targets specific points with the goal of restoring motion to the targeted joint.
